I thought healing would happen quickly.
I thought recovery would be straightforward.
I thought one intervention would solve everything.
Life had other plans.
Healing took longer. Much longer.
Long enough for frustration to set in.
Long enough for questions to arise.
Long enough for hope to occasionally feel fragile.
I found myself comparing my journey with others.
Why were they recovering faster? Why did their breakthrough come sooner? Why did my process seem different?
Comparison only deepened my discouragement.
Eventually, I learned an important lesson.
Healing is not a competition.
Everyone's journey is unique. Everyone's timeline is different.
God was not working according to my schedule. He was working according to His wisdom.
The delay did not mean abandonment. The delay did not mean failure. The delay did not mean my prayers had gone unheard.
Sometimes healing is immediate. Sometimes healing is gradual.
And sometimes healing involves becoming stronger while we wait.
The timeline may not have been what I expected. But the lessons were invaluable.
