What I Wish People Understood About Women's Health

I wish people understood that heavy bleeding is not normal.

I wish people understood that severe period pain is not something women should simply endure.

I wish people understood that infertility is not always visible.

That endometriosis is real. That fibroids can be debilitating. That menopause affects more than hot flushes. That reproductive health impacts every area of a woman's life.

I wish employers understood. I wish policymakers understood. I wish families understood.

Most importantly, I wish women understood that they deserve care.

Too many women delay treatment because they have been taught to minimise their symptoms. To put everyone else first. To keep pushing through. To suffer quietly.

But silence comes at a cost.

Every delayed diagnosis has consequences. Every missed symptom matters. Every dismissed concern matters.

Women's health is not a luxury. It is not a niche issue. It is not an afterthought. It is a human issue.

And every woman deserves to be heard, believed, and supported.

Because when women thrive, families thrive. Communities thrive. And society thrives.

The conversation must continue. And it must grow louder.
