Twelve Years of Fibroids

If you had met me during those years, you might never have known what I was carrying.

I smiled. I worked. I attended meetings. I fulfilled responsibilities. I looked fine.

But appearances can be deceiving.

Behind the scenes, I was fighting a battle with fibroids that lasted more than a decade.

Twelve years.

Twelve years of uncertainty. Twelve years of symptoms. Twelve years of hoping each treatment would finally be the last.

Fibroids affected my health, my plans, and at times, my emotional wellbeing.

There were moments when I felt frustrated. Moments when I felt exhausted. Moments when I wondered whether the journey would ever end.

One of the most difficult lessons was accepting that healing is not always linear.

There were victories. There were setbacks. There were periods of relief followed by new challenges.

Yet through it all, I discovered resilience. I discovered courage. I discovered faith.

Most importantly, I discovered that I was not alone.

Millions of women around the world are living with fibroids. Many are suffering in silence. Many believe they simply have to endure.

I share my story because I want them to know they don't. There is help. There is treatment. There is hope. And there is life beyond the diagnosis.
