The Girl Who Thought She Was Dying

The bleeding would not stop.

Day after day, it continued.

I became weaker. Dizzier. More frightened.

At fourteen years old, I genuinely thought I was dying.

I did not understand what was happening. Neither did my family.

When we finally sought medical attention, doctors discovered a hormonal condition affecting my menstrual cycle.

Treatment helped. Information helped. Support helped.

But I often think about how different things might have been if we had understood the warning signs earlier.

Many girls suffer unnecessarily because reproductive health education remains limited.

Questions go unanswered. Symptoms go ignored. Fear fills the gaps where knowledge should be.

Every girl deserves access to accurate health information.

Because understanding our bodies should never be a privilege.

It should be a right.
