Dear Sister,
I know you are afraid.
Perhaps you are trying to be brave for your family.
Perhaps you are smiling when people ask how you are doing.
Perhaps you are telling everyone that you are fine.
But deep down, you are scared.
Scared of the surgery.
Scared of the unknown.
Scared of the recovery.
Scared of what the future might hold.
Please know that your feelings are valid.
Fear does not mean you lack faith.
Anxiety does not mean you are weak.
You are facing something significant, and it is normal to feel overwhelmed.
Take things one day at a time.
One appointment at a time.
One prayer at a time.
One step at a time.
Do not carry tomorrow's worries today.
Focus on what is in front of you.
Ask questions.
Seek support.
Allow others to help.
And remember that courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is moving forward despite it.
There is life on the other side of this procedure.
There is healing.
There is hope.
And there is a community of women who understand exactly how you feel.
You are not alone.
With love and understanding,
My Gynae Foundation
