I expected to encounter fear in the hospital. And I did.
I expected uncertainty. And I found plenty of it.
What I did not expect was how profoundly I would encounter God there.
Not in a church building. Not during a conference. Not at a prayer retreat.
But in a hospital ward.
I sensed Him in unexpected moments.
In conversations. In kindness. In reassurance. In provision.
In peace that seemed disproportionate to my circumstances.
The hospital became holy ground.
Not because it was free from pain.
But because God's presence was there.
Illness has a way of stripping away distractions. It exposes what matters most.
And in that season, I discovered that God's presence is not confined to places of comfort.
He walks with us into operating theatres. Waiting rooms. Recovery wards. And difficult diagnoses.
The hospital was never where I planned to meet Him.
But it became one of the places where I came to know Him most deeply.
