The Day They Found the Tumour

There are moments in life when time seems to stand still.

For me, one of those moments occurred when doctors discovered a tumour on my kidney.

I remember the shock. The disbelief. The flood of questions.

Cancer was something that happened to other people. Or so I thought.

Suddenly, it was part of my story.

The days that followed were filled with investigations, consultations, and difficult conversations.

I learned new medical terminology. I researched treatment options. I tried to prepare myself for possibilities I never imagined facing.

Yet beneath all the uncertainty, one truth remained.

Early detection saved my life.

Because the tumour was discovered early, treatment could begin quickly.

The diagnosis was frightening. But it was also timely.

Today, when I speak about screening and early intervention, I do so from personal experience.

I understand the fear. But I also understand the power of knowing.

Sometimes the news we dread becomes the very information that saves us.

And sometimes what feels like the worst day of our lives becomes the beginning of our healing journey.
