A Father's Prayer

Every night, after everyone else had gone to sleep, he prayed.

He prayed for healing.

He prayed for wisdom for the doctors.

He prayed for strength.

He prayed for peace.

He prayed for a miracle.

My father was not a man who spoke extensively about emotions.

He expressed love through actions.

Through provision.

Through protection.

Through presence.

Yet during my illness, I discovered another side of him.

A side that carried burdens silently before God.

A side that worried deeply but chose faith over fear.

One evening, I overheard him praying.

His voice trembled.

His words were simple.

But they carried the weight of a father's love.

In that moment, I realized something profound.

Illness does not only test patients.

It tests families.

It tests relationships.

It tests faith.

Sometimes the prayers of those who love us become part of our healing journey.

To every parent praying for a child facing a health challenge:

Your prayers matter.

Your love matters.

And your faith matters more than you know.
